Women’s IPL 2023 will create history in female cricket. BCCI got $572.72 million just after unveiling five franchises for the Women’s Premier League. This is just the beginning of the auction, the title sponsor rights, and many things are yet to come and these things will make this first Women’s Indian Premier League a life-changing tournament for many new cricket talents.

Women’s Premier League Auction 2023

 The auction ceremony of the Women’s Indian Premier League will be held on 13 Feb at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.

BCCI is planning to make this event as big as the men’s IPL. Data of the cricketers from all the states are being collected, and the star players and the crickets who played well in domestic cricket will going to participate in the auction.

A total of 1525 players registered for the inaugural Women’s Premier League Player Auction & the final list was pruned to 409 player

International players from the top countries will also take part in the auction. All five teams are in the touch with BCCI and the date and venue will be announced soon.

BCCI is also inviting bids for the title sponsor for Women’s IPL 2023, the title sponsor will be announced before the auction date. Business houses like Tata, Adani, Reliance, and many startups are in the race of taking title sponsorship of Women IPL.

Women’s Premier League 2023 Schedule

 Women IPL 2023 will start from 4th – 26th March 2023. A total of 22 matches will be played with the Brabourne Stadium & D.Y. Patil Stadium playing hosts to the marquee tournament.  

The first match will be played between Gujarat Giants vs Mumbai Indians on 4th March 2023 at 7:30 PM in DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai.

Women’s Premier League 2023 Teams List

More than 30 companies including Adani, Reliance, Haldirams, and Jindal were on the list for taking teams in Women’s IPL.

As per the report of Cricbuzz, the B CCI’s requirement that an applicant has a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore before they can bid for a franchise has deterred Bollywood celebrities from purchasing the document.

But only five teams were able to succeed in the bidding for the first season: Adani Sportsline Pvt Ltd – Ahmedabad, India win Sports Pvt Ltd – Mumbai, Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd – Bangalore, JSW GMR Cricket Pvt Ltd – Delhi, Capri Global Holdings Pvt Ltd – Lucknow
